<p>The 1914 $5 Indian Head Half Eagle is one of America’s most distinctive classic gold coins. Designed by Bela Lyon Pratt, it features a Native American chief on the obverse and a standing eagle on the reverse. Unlike most U.S. coins, its principal designs and lettering are struck below the coin’s surface in an incuse style.
